Skadden retains top spot in deal-maker rankings

US law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has held onto it’s position as top dealmaker for the second year in a row. The value of worldwide deals rose by 23 per cent in 2010, to $2.4 trillion, but the top 17 law firms saw less market share. Skadden’s tally of deals fell in value by around 24 percent to $268.8 billion. US firm Sullivan & Cromwell took second place with $243.3 billion in deals, overtaking UK firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in third place, advising on deals to the value of $209 billion.
