Norton Rose hires Ashurst partner to lead Asia-Pacific oil and gas team

Norton Rose has hired energy partner Ashley Wright of Ashurst in Singapore to lead its Asia-Pacific oil & gas team. The hire will give a boost to the firm’s ambitions in the Indonesian energy market. “Indonesia is a very important jurisdiction for me and it should be for every Singapore-based international law firm. It is the largest economy in Southeast Asia by a mile and a great energy province in oil & gas, LNG petrochemicals and power,” Wright said. “The trade flows for energy, LNG particularly from Australia and Indonesia to America, Japan and Korea are global – so a decent energy practice has to think along global lines as well.”
