Orrick acquires Munich branch of Holme Roberts & Owen

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has acquired the Munich branch of US firm Holme Roberts & Owen. The acquisition marks the end of Holme Roberts & Owen’s German presence, after providing services in the country for seven years. The eight-attorney office joins Orrick’s global network, which includes offices in Berlin, Duesseldorf and Frankfurt. “As one of the first American firms to open in Munich, the competition has increased ten-fold since the opening of HRO Munich in 2003,” according to an HRO company statement. “Our talent in this venue has been recognized by others and with the departure of our German colleagues to another firm, we wish them continued success in their new venture.”
