Jones Day appoints new Partner in Charge in Singapore

Jones Day has appointed a new Partner in Charge of its Singapore office, bestowing the role upon banking and finance partner Sushma Jobanputra. Jobanputra takes over from incumbent David Longstaff, who is leaving the role to focus his efforts on expanding the firm’s presence in the ASEAN region, with a particular emphasis on Indonesia. “Looking ahead in 2011, we predict growth opportunities in the energy, finance and capital markets sectors. There has been a large inflow of investment into Indonesia’s resources sector, as well as infrastructure development, which we expect to continue,” said Jobanputra. “We are excited about the year ahead in Indonesia, which, along with India and Vietnam, is showing tremendous potential for growth in 2011.”
