Clifford Chance set to launch in Qatar

Clifford Chance is set to launch an office in Qatar on the receipt of licence approval. The new base will be headed finance partner Richard Parris and counsel Greg Englefield, and will initially consist of around six lawyers, with plans to expand to around 20 lawyers over the next three or four years. Parris said: “This decision is a significant step forward for the strategy of the firm and our ability to help our clients with their Qatar-related business opportunities. The subsequent award of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar will hopefully present even further opportunities in this regard.”
