Chinese firm Zhong Lun expands in Hong Kong and looks to New York
Beijing-based Zhong Lun, one of China's largest firms with more than 300 lawyers, is set to complete a merger in Hong Kong. Zhong Lun’s Hong Kong affiliate firm, the six-lawyer Roger Ho & Co, will merge with the 21-lawyer Hong Kong firm Boughton Peterson Young Anderson. Zhong Lun plans to merge with the combined firm at the end of the three-year affiliation period required by the Hong Kong Law Society for mainland Chinese firms. Zhong Lun managing partner Zhang Xuebing says the firm is also considering entry into the New York market, and is searching for a small firm to be a merger partner there.
