Davis hires seven in Tokyo
Canadian law firm Davis LLP has bolstered its Tokyo practice with the hire of seven Japanese lawyers, including leading corporate and structured-finance lawyer Hiroaki Takahashi. Tokyo Managing Partner Tony McArthur said, "More and more Japanese businesses are looking to acquisitions across Asia and North and South America, particularly in the infrastructure, energy and natural resources sectors, and the new Davis team is well placed to support this advance." "This is an important day in the firm's almost 70 year relationship with Japan," said the firm's Managing Partner, Robert Seidel, Q.C. "The addition of Mr. Takahashi and his team enhances our effectiveness in advising clients both wishing to do business in and with Japan, and those looking to overseas markets from a base in Japan."
