Latham & Watkins hires three Kirkland partners in Chicago

Latham & Watkins’s Chicago office has hired three partners from Kirkland & Ellis. Real Estate partners Robert Buday, Nathaniel Marrs and Gary Axelrod made the move despite the fact that Kirkland is one of the most profitable law firms in the US, with an average profit per partner of $2.49 million, compared with $1.9 million at Latham. According to a statement from Buday, the group was attracted by the greater international presence at Latham & Watkins.
