Shearman & Sterling see revenues and profits fall in 2010

Shearman & Sterling has had a tough year, seeing revenue drop by 8 per cent from $801m in 2009 to $737m in 2010, while profits per equity partner fell from $1.74m to $1.57m. Senior partner Rohan Weerasinghe attributed the fall to an unusual number of large deals running over the New Year, for which revenue will be collected in 2011. "We had a very strong second half, and we're going into 2011 with a strong pipeline," he said.
