Starting date prospects for associates: looking good
Interesting article here about the follow on effects of all those deferred start dates for associates during the height of the recession in 2008 and 2009. The deferrals created a backlog of associates, and large law firms are still trying to absorb those people that were offered jobs and left in limbo. At DLA Piper, for example, some associates in the class of are due to start in January 2012. The article suggests that start dates are returning to normal, which will be a relief to those graduates that have been offered places.
