Freshfields boosts China practice with promotion and relocations

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has boosted its China practice, promoting Hong Kong-based partner Teresa Ko to lead the practice and transferring three other partners – Jenny Connolly, Melissa Thomas and Simon Weller – to offices in China. London-based partners Jenny Connolly and Simon Weller are set to join the firm’s Shanghai and Hong Kong offices respectively, and corporate partner Melissa Thomas will be relocated from Shanghai to Beijing. The staff transfers increase the ranks of partners in Freshfields’ China offices to 21.
