Linklaters goes on Australia / New Zealand recruitment drive

UK firm Linklaters has hired 21 lawyers in Australia and New Zealand from top firms including Allens Arthur Robinson, Freehills, Mallesons and Russell McVeagh. The recruitment drive saw four Linklaters partners visit Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland to interview around 50 candidates. The majority of the new recruits whom will be heading to London to boost the firm's banking and finance, corporate and litigation departments. A spokesman for the firm attributed the hires to "increasing client demand", and made it clear that the firm has no immediate interest in opeing an Australian office.
