Norton Rose Australia appoints new managing partner

Norton Rose Australia has announced the appointment of a new managing partner, with Wayne Spanner set to take over the role from current MP Don Boyd on 1 January 2012. Spanner is currently practice group leader in Australia and global practice leader of the global employment and labour practice. He has been a partner at the firm since 2002. “I am excited about the opportunity to lead Norton Rose Australia and strengthen our new ties with Africa and Canada,” he said. Don Boyd said that has Spanner was instrumental in the recent merger between Deacons and Norton Rose: “Wayne has been integral in the integration processes and has the great trust and respect of the Australian partners. He has demonstrated the strategic skills necessary to grow the practice and is well known within the international practice and to the practice’s local and international clients.”
