Davis Polk & Wardwell has bolstered its Washington DC antitrust practice with the hire of Howard A. Shelanski. Shelanski has a wealth of regulatory experience, joining the firm from a role as an economist at the Federal Trade Commission, before which he was the chief economist at the Federal Communications Commission. He begain his government career in 1998 as a senior economist for President’s Clinton’s Council of Economic Advisers. “Howard is a uniquely skilled and highly respected antitrust lawyer and economist who brings valuable senior government experience to the firm,” said Thomas J.
