Sidley Austin boosts Shanghai capital markets practice with Baker & McKenzie hire

Chicago-based firm Sidley Austin has boosted its Shanghai capital markets practice with the hire of a partner from Baker & McKenzie Anthony Jacobsen is qualified in Hong Kong, and his primary practice is in advising Chinese companies on Hong Kong law aspects of overseas debt and equity offerings. Sidley Austin isn’t the only firm with an eye on Asian capital markets work – a number of international firms have sought to bolster their expertise in this lucrative area including Kirkland & Ellis, which hired eight partners from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, Latham & Watkins and Allen & Overy this August.
