Amarchand promotes associate to lead Hyderabad practice

Amarchand Mangaldas has promoted principal associate Anshuman Jaiswal to the partnership, and has given him leadership of the Hyderabad practice, replacing Kartik Mahalingam, who leaves the firm to join Omidyar Fund. Jaiswal said: “It's a challenging market, yes, but given the brand and expertise within the firm, we are quite optimistic and will look at things slightly differently now.” The firm has also bolstered the Kolkata office by re-hiring partner Siddhartha Dutta from Luhtra & Luthra. Dutta began his career in 2000 with Amarchand’s Delhi’s litigation practice before moving to Luthra & Luthra.
