DWF and Cobbetts end merger talks

After months of negotiations, the proposed merger between DWF and Cobbetts has fallen in a heap. Word go out last November that the firms were considering joining up, after it was revealed that the URL www.dwfcobbetts was registered. The merger would have created a firm with 1,800 staff and a combined turnover of £130m. In a joint statement the firms explained that discussions had ended "due to the current uncertainty in market conditions".
