Chapman and Cutler to launch in Washington DC

Chapman and Cutler is set to launch in Washington DC after hiring a six-partner finance team from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. Chief executive partner Tim Mohan explained that the firm focused on DC in order to service clients in the banking, securities, structured finance, and public finance markets, which are facing increased regulatory scrutiny. The incoming team is composed of Felicia Graham, Douglas Madsen, Michael Mitchell, Mark Riccardi, Craig Fishman, and Rachel George. Riccardi explained his decision to join Chapman by pointing out that the firm remains committed to practice areas that were hit hard by the economic downturn: "At a time when other firms are pulling back, stopping new investments, Chapman is taking on a strong, forward-looking leadership role," he said.
