Ashurst appoints new managing partner

Ashurst has tapped Paris-based banking partner James Collis to be its new managing partner. Collis takes over from Simon Bromwich, who decided last month to step down from the role ahead of schedule. Collis will relocate to London to take up his new post. Meanwhile, the firm has also created a new role for projects partner and longstanding board member Logan Mair, who will now function as the client project and development partner. The new role might be some kind of consolation prize for Mair, who was rumoured to be a likely candidate for the managing partner role. The role he has been given entails work with senior partner Charlie Geffen and Collis, as well as practice and regional heads, to help facilitate integration between Ashurst's offices and practices in the light of its recent combination with legacy Blake Dawson.
