Freshfields bolsters Hong Kong with Sullivan hire

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's Hong Kong outpost has hired US securities and M&A special counsel Calvin Lai from Sullivan & Cromwell's local office. He will join Freshfields as a partner. The firm intends Lai's appointment to strengthen Freshfields' Chinese corporate practice and improve its ability to offer transpacific Hong Kong and US law securities advice.
