Mayer Brown offers trainees £10k to defer

Mayer Brown has given incoming trainees the option of deferring their start date for a year with a payment of £10,000. The deferral is open to 47 prospective trainees across four intakes, but so far only three have taken the firm up on their offer. RollonFriday suggests that with redundancies and a potential merger with SJ Berwin in the pipeline, it might not be a bad idea for the incoming group to clear out until the dust settles and the work volume increases.
