US firm Sheppard Mullin opens in Korea

U.S. law firm Sheppard Mullin has launched its 16th overseas office today, opening its doors in in the Korean capital Seoul. The firm specialises in entertainment law, and Korean chairman Kim Byoung-soo says that the new base will play a key role in promoting Korean pop culture overseas. “With its headquarters located in Los Angeles, home to Hollywood, the firm has been the legal advisor to numerous renowned entertainment companies, and therefore the Seoul office could help K-pop go global,” he said during a press conference at his office. The firm is the first to open a permanent office in Seoul since the Korean government granted regulatory permission to several foreign law firms last month.
