London firm Halebury expands team ahead of ABS conversion

TMT and sports firm Halebury has boosted its team with five hires in the past two months, ahead of a planned conversion to an alternative business structure. Raj Koria is the Halebury’s most recent hire, joining the firm from a role as the senior director of legal affairs at sports agency SPORTFIVE. Janvi Patel, who jointly leads Halebury with Denise Nurse, said that the firm intends to make another five hires by the end of the year, with another 15 hires next year. Halebury has no partners, operating as a collective of 17 freelance solicitors, who earn a percentage of their billings and have a greater say in the work they do. Patel and Nurse are in early discussions with a number of potential investors about converting to an ABS, a move which has been on the cards since the firm was founded in 2007.
