Kennedys mulls merger with aviation firm Gates and Partners

Insurance firm Kennedys is considering a move to incorporate an aviation practice via a merger with aviation firm Gates and Partners. The two firms are in early stage merger talks, which started in recent weeks. Kennedys lost its eight-partner aerospace team - which it inherited from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert - when the team resigned to join Holman Fenwick in March 2011. Gates and Partners was launched in 2003, and now has 54 lawyers, including 25 partners, and offices in London, Singapore, Brussels, Paris and Dubai.
