Clifford Chance hires former KWM Germany head

Sonya Pauls has left her position as Germany head at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) amid several recent high-profile exits from the firm. Pauls, who is known for advising a number of investment funds and private equity houses, will join the investment funds team at Clifford Chance. KWM named Pauls as German managing partner in 2014, as the firm focused on operations in Munich and Frankfurt, closing its Berlin office soon thereafter. Other recent exits included former German corporate head Julian Lemor and banking and capital markets partner Hilger von Livonius.
