CMS launches Hong Kong office

CMS has boosted its Asia presence with the launch of a new office in Hong Kong. The office will operate under CMS Hasche Sigle, the German arm of CMS, and will focus primarily on dispute resolution and M&A. International arbitration partner Nicholas Wiegand has been appointed head of the new location. The firm is considering further expanding the Hong Kong operation by adding a banking and finance practice in 2017 through its UK-based arm, CMS Cameron McKenna. CMS first established operations in China in the 1990s, and and currently has offices in Shanghai and Beijing, which house a combined total of around 60 lawyers.
