Another German partner leaves A&O this week
Michael Ulmer has left Allen & Overy (A&O) for Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, making him the second corporate partner to leave A&O’s Frankfurt office this week. On Monday, capital markets head Oliver Seiler exited the firm to join Latham & Watkins. Ulmer departs A&O after having spent a decade at the firm, and will focus on M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate matters at Cleary. Several partners from A&O have joined Cleary in the past few years, including Bob Penn, former A&O head of contentious financial services regulation.
