Quinn Emanuel expected to poach Shearman team in Brussels

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is reportedly in the midst of discussions with several leaders at the Brussels office of Shearman & Sterling. The firm is expected to carry out a group hire, including office head Stephen Mavroghenis and competition partner Trevor Soames, who led the Brussels office of Howrey’s before joining Shearman. Quinn launched its Brussels office in 2014, and the office is currently led by Nadine Herrmann. Shearman’s Brussels base has experienced turbulence in the past several years, although transitions have leveled off since the firm hired a five-partner team from Howrey’s in 2011.
