Addleshaws considers a new Scottish merger

Addleshaw Goddard is reassessing its options for a takeover in Scotland, following its failed merger attempt with Maclay Murray & Spens. Addleshaws is in talk to acquire three Scottish offices of HBJ Gateley, including locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen. Gateley’s English and Scottish business are run separately, and have been operating under a business relationship since 2006. As the formal relationship is due to end in May 2017, a merger would offer Addleshaws a Scotland presence as the firm seeks to expand.
