White & Case hires Macfarlanes competition head
Macfarlanes competition head Marc Israel has left the firm to join White & Case, which has been hiring several new lawyers in its London office. His departure follows that of former Macfarlanes financial services head David Berman, who left the firm in September to join Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Prior to joining Macfarlanes in 2001, Israel started his career at Slaughter and May. He became a partner at Macfarlanes in 2004, at which point he began to head up the competition practice as well as the firm’s departmental competition litigation group.
