Bird & Bird shuts IP and trademark spin-off

Bird & Bird has closed the doors on Aves Brands, its intellectual property and trademarks spin-off consultancy. The spin-off was founded in 2013, and rebranded as Bird & Bird IP Services after the firm re-acquired the consultancy earlier this year. Just under half of Bird & Bird’s 285 partners invested in Aves, which also functioned as the parent company for the Baseline technology and IT consultancy. Aves Brands invested heavily in recruitment and marketing in 2015, leading to losses of £200,000. The consultancy reported turnover of £660,000 for the same time period.
