Eversheds and Sutherland approach merger vote

Eversheds is in the midst of late stage merger discussions with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, a US firm. Based in Atlanta, Sutherland advises clients in a number of practice areas, including corporate, litigation, tax, financial services, intellectual property, energy, and real estate. Sutherland’s staff includes 178 partners, which would join Eversheds’ 358 partners. The merger would create a combined firm with turnover of £600m and office locations in Atlanta, Austin, Geneva, Houston, New York, Sacramento, and Washington DC. The firms’ partners are set to vote on the proposed merger in the coming weeks.
