Gowling WLG launches tech skills assessment of lawyers and staff
Gowling WLG has launched a new programme designed to assess technology and digital abilities among its lawyers and staff members. The initiative has been launched in the UK, and will run through the beginning of next year. The assessment will measure digital and tech capabilities of the firm’s practice groups, along with business service departments. According to Derek Southall, head of digital information and legal systematics at Gowlings, the programme will help to identify areas in which the firm can improve its use of technology. He said that the program is intended as a positive and educational way for the firm to improve its technology capabilities, rather than a method of punishing those who lack digital abilities.
