Addleshaws hires Freshfields COO

Addleshaw Goddard has hired Axel Koelsch of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to serve as the firm’s first chief operating officer (COO). Koelsch is currently COO of Freshfields’ German and Austrian arm, and previously held positions at Linklaters and legacy Lovells. Freshfields has been searching for COO candidates since May of this year. Koelsch will start at Freshfields in February 2017, when he joins fellow executive team members John Joyce, Colin Brown, Adrian Collins, Michael Leftley, and Simon Callander.
