DLA Piper launches in Chile through local firm agreement
DLA Piper has entered into a cooperation agreement with a Chilean firm, making its entrance into Chile amid a broader expansion throughout Latin America. Local Chilean firm Bahamondez Alvarez & Zegers (BAZ) will work with DLA in the region to operate a full-service firm of 25 lawyers under the name BAZ/DLA Piper. According to DLA global co-chairman Juan Picon, the agreement with BAZ is a natural fit as the firm continues to expand globally. DLA has launched a number of offices in Latin America in recent years, having established agreements with firms located in Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, and Brazil.
