Freshfields to relocate Hong Kong office

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is planning to move its Hong Kong office from the city’s Central district to a new location in Quarry Bay. The new office will occupy 40,000 square feet in Taikoo Place. The firm is set to lease the property from Swire Properties. The move comes as Freshfields, among other firms, seeks to lower its costs in response to a competitive business environment and client pressure on fees. In the new space, Freshfields will save the firm around £307,000 in annual rent for the same amount of space as its current location.
