Trainee retention rates posted by HSF, Hogan Lovells and Macfarlanes
Trainee retention rates have been posted by several firms, including Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), Hogan Lovells, and Macfarlanes. HSF has retained 77 per cent of spring trainees, a decline from last year’s 94 per cent. Hogan Lovells’ retention rate was 79 per cent, which is similar to its previous retention rate of 80 per cent in August 2016. Macfarlanes kept on 100 per cent of trainees, joining firms such as Mayer Brown and Slaughter and May with 100 per cent retention rates this spring.
