Ashurst partner leaves for Gibson Dunn in Germany

Gibson Dunn has hired Ashurst finance partner Sebastian Schoon in a move that will further expand Gibson Dunn’s presence in Germany. He will be based in the firm’s Munich office, joining former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Ferdinand Fromholzer. Schoon has worked at Ashurst since 2004, and was made up to partner in 2011. He worked alongside Alexander Ballmann to lead the firm’s corporate and finance restructuring teams. Gibson Dunn has boosted its German presence during the last 12 months, following its June 2016 launch of a Frankfurt location.
