Dentons to merge with Scottish firm Maclay Murray & Spens
Dentons has announced an upcoming merger with Maclay Murray & Spens, a Scottish firm with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London. The move will bring 258 lawyers to Dentons' UKMEA arm and increase its global headcount to a new total of 8,965 lawyers.
Dentons’ UKMEA board will gain four new members from the Maclay Murray & Spens management team, including chief executive Kenneth Shand, along with chairman Michael Livingston.
Jeremy Cohen, Dentons’ UKMEA CEO, said the merger will allow the firm to expand its geographic reach, while also boosting key practice areas.
The merger is expected to finalize later in 2017.
