BP Hires Linklaters In Russian TNK-BP War
BP has hired London law firm Linklaters as it starts arbitration proceedings in Sweden against AAR, the Russian consortium that owns the other half of TNK-BP, U.K. media said Sunday. BP alleges violations of TNK-BP's legal framework by AAR, said London-based Sunday Times. The AAR consortium is made up of Russian billionaires, Mikhail Fridman, Viktor Vekselberg, Leonard Blavatnik and German Khan. TNK-BP head Robert Dudley fled Russia and went into hiding this week due to what he called "sustained harassment of the company and myself," said the newspaper. AAR has hired seven law firms, led by Lovells.
