Kirkland hires David Higgins from Freshfields
Kirkland & Ellis as co-managing partner in the firm’s London office. He joins Kirkland from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and the deal is reportedly worth approximately $10m per year.
In his new position, Higgins will become a member of the Kirkland core executive committee, and will work alongside Stephen Lucas, who is also based in London. According to Kirkland chairman Jeffrey Hammes, the firm is currently focusing on investing in its European business. He also said that Higgins’ leadership and experience will help the firm to build on its private equity platform in the region.
