Linklaters to cut 120 associates, 150 staff in London

Linklaters today announced plans to cut up to 120 junior lawyers in its London office in anticipation of a weakening demand for commercial legal services. The "magic circle" firm said it would launch a consultation with staff after which 100 and 120 lawyers and 130 and 150 business support staff were expected to lose their jobs. Linklaters' managing partner Simon Davies said the firm had been forced into the shake-up by the global recession.
