Dewey Ballantine to merge with New York firm LeBoeuf

Seven months after breaking off merger talks with a San Francisco law firm, Dewey Ballantine LLP has united with another New York firm to boost growth. The merger between New York's Dewey with LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae LLP will create one of the largest firms in New York and one of the largest U.S.-based firms in London. The combined firm will be called Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and have more than 1,300 attorneys in 12 countries with revenue approaching $1 billion. The merger is expected to take effect Oct. 1.
