Herbert Smith lays off 84 as consultation closes
Herbert Smith has completed its redundancy consultation with 84 members of staff laid off in London. The consultation, which concluded at the end of last week, resulted in 82 voluntary redundancies, meaning the firm will only have to make two compulsory layoffs. The firm’s corporate team will lose 24 fee earners and professional support lawyers (PSL) as well as nine paralegals, while nine fee earners and PSLs have been laid off in the firm's real estate practice.
