Hourly rates at top UK law firms drop by a third

According to a survey by costs lawyer Jim Diamond, the recession has forced the UK’s largest firms like Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Simmons & Simmons to slash their prices and target less lucrative instructions. In the last year average magic circle partner rates have dropped by a third, from £680 an hour to £450, reports The Lawyer.
