Latham & Watkins moves into Texas with Houston launch

After massive layoffs in 2009, Latham and Watkins LLP is reportedly expanding its operation with a new office in Houston, Texas. Bloomberg reports that Michael Dillard from Akin Gump and Sean Wheeler from Houston-based Baker Botts will head the new office of the Los Angeles-based law firm. Michael Dillard was head of Akin Gump's energy and global transactions practice and Sean Wheeler forcused on representing investors and banks in energy-related equity and debt offerings.
