Ropes, Mason Hayes, Wilmer lead on $1.1 bn SkillSoft LBO

Ropes & Gray and Mason Hayes & Curran have lined up to advise on one of the largest leveraged buyouts in Ireland since the credit crunch - the $1.1bn sale of SkillSoft to a private equity consortium. Boston's Ropes and Ireland's Mason Hayes advised Berkshire Partners, Advent International and Bain Capital as the consortium acquiring electronic education services provider SkillSoft. Rope's team included corporate partner Jane Goldstein, strategic development partner David Chapin, corporate partners Jane Rogers, Steve Rutkovsky, Sunil Savkar, and tax partners Christopher Leich and Jennifer Hardin. Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr corporate chair Hal Leibowitz, M&A partner Patrick Rondeau, antitrust counsel Jeffrey Ayer, and associates Clark Petschek and Alexandra Greene advised SkillSoft.
