Bingham first US firm to pay new City associates 100,000 £

Bingham McCutchen LLP is paying newly qualified lawyers 100,000 pounds ($157,000) in its London office. Bingham is the first U.S. firm to pay six figures for new associates in the UK. Many of the major law firms pay comparable starting associates in New York City, but entry-level pay for London lawyers is traditionally lower. Linklaters LLP, the U.K.’s highest-grossing law firm, is paying its newly qualified lawyers 61,500 pounds.
