So much for diversity: UK magic circle firms and their new recruits

According to new research carried out by LegalWeek, over a third of the trainees joining the UK ‘magic circle’ firms over the last two years have studied at either Oxford or Cambridge university. Over the four intakes between September 2008 and March 2010, around 65% of lawyers recruited by magic circle firms attended a top 10 university.
