Irwin Mitchell appoints two non-lawyers to equity partnership

Irwin Mitchell has become one of the first top UK firms to convert to Legal Disciplinary Partnership (LDP) status, after making up two non-lawyers to the firm's equity partnership: financial director Mark Dakin and costs manager Steven Green. Changes to the Legal Services Act – which came into effect in March 2009 - permit non-lawyers to form up to 25% of a law firm's partnership. Irwin Mitchell's annual promotions round has seen eight lawyers made up to the firm's salaried partnership, bringing the total number of partners to 147.
